Dr Gabrielle McCallum
Gabrielle had many years of experience in Indigenous health, working as a nurse in both Alice Springs and Darwin, before commencing her clinical reserach career.
She has a particular interest in improving the respiratory health of Indigenous children, by conducting evidence-based research programs and translating research findings into meaningful and culturally appropriate outcomes, such as respiratory educational resources.
Gabrielle completed her PhD in 2015, and is currently supported by an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship. One focus of her work is continuing her study which provides clinical follow up to children discharged from hospital after a respiratory illness, with the aim of improving their long term outcomes.
