Dr Maree Toombs
Dr Maree Toombs is the Director of Indigenous Health within the Rural Clinical School at the University of Queensland, based in Toowoomba. She is also the Chair of Carbal Aboriginal Medical Services, a leading health facility servicing the Darling Downs region. Maree's research focus is on mental health amongst Indigenous Australians and includes the development of culturally appropriate quality of life assessment tools for use with Indigenous Australians.
Maree provides specific guidance to the CRE regarding qualitative research methodologies in Indigenous health research, and is involved in the supervision of many of the CRE's research scholars and fellows. Maree was subsequently promoted to an Associate Professor within the CRE.
