Dr Gabrielle McCallum
"Improving liung health in Indigenous children through long term follow up studies".
Gabrielle has worked extensively in Indigenous health over many years, both as a clinical and research nurse. She completed her PhD through Menzies in 2015 before being awarded a CRE fellowship. Her fellowship focussed on following up children with respiratory disease after they leave hospital with the aim of optimising their clinical care and thus their long term outcomes. This involved multiple trips to remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory which were home to many of these children. While Gabrielle is now supported by an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship, this project is continuing with funding support from the CRE.
